POLY ETHYLENE is a white, tough, water-repellent, Thermoplastic resin.
Appearance wise it is similar to paraffine. This product with different oil content is derived from crude and sheet P.E. Physical and chemical properties are affected by its density. Low-density ones have highly branched and widely spaced chain while high-density have comparatively straight and closely aligned chains. Properties including: Density, Crystallinity, molecular weight and spreadity can be regulated by altering catalyst and different types of polymerization. By increasing density and crystallinity this material becomes stiffer and stronger. It will be melted in higher temperature and is more resistant against liquid and gas penetration with better tear resistance. P.E can be used as an insulation and can be molded easily.
P.E can be used as an additive in industrial lubricant as well as production of high-quality fuels, It is being used as a viscousity reductant agent thus better fluid of petroleum derivatives.
P.E is being used as an additive in production of Masterbatches and plastics to improve flexibility and stability properties. It is also applied in polymer-based emulsion.
